The Neptun Alpha offshore platform has been installed in the Black Sea, marking a significant milestone in Romania's largest gas exploitation project. The platform, weighing 16,500 tons and standing over 225 meters tall, was installed using the Saipem 7000 vessel. OMV Petrom and Romgaz emphasize the project's importance for Romania's energy security, with production expected to start in 2027. The project includes the completion of six out of ten development wells and a 160 km pipeline to the shore. The Neptun Deep project is seen as a historic achievement for the gas industry in Romania and the EU.
