Transelectrica has activated a group of demand response consumers for the first time in the balancing market, allowing them to provide balancing energy without production units. This activation occurred on September 1, where a consumer reduced their consumption by 3 MW. The group, formed by Flexumers, passed technical qualification tests and demonstrates that demand can effectively respond to system needs. This marks a significant step in integrating consumer flexibility into the energy market, enabling consumers who do not meet the minimum participation threshold to aggregate and participate. The activation aligns with Romania's energy market reforms under the PNRR.
