Premieră în sistemul energetic românesc: pentru prima dată, consumul intră efectiv în piața de echilibrare
On September 1, Romania's energy system saw its first activation of a group of controllable consumption sites in the balancing market, providing 3 MW of reserve. This group, formed by Flexumers, marks a shift where demand, rather than production, contributes to energy balancing. The mechanism allows consumers to adjust their consumption temporarily, offering a new revenue stream without the need for production investments. This activation aligns with Romania's energy reforms under the PNRR, enabling aggregated consumer participation in the balancing market.
