A new multi-storey parking facility with a SMURD heliport has been inaugurated at the Emergency Clinical Hospital in Galați, Romania, enhancing emergency response capabilities. The heliport will allow rapid patient transfer to the emergency unit via a 75-meter walkway and external elevators. Although the facility is ready, it awaits operational approval from health authorities, which has been delayed since January. Once functional, the heliport could significantly reduce critical patient transfer times, potentially saving lives. The hospital serves over 250,000 patients annually and has improved surrounding infrastructure to alleviate traffic congestion.
