Premieră în lupta pentru bugetul UE. Mureșan dezvăluie cifrele care arată că liderii europeni nu controlează Parlamentul: „Dețin doar 270 de europarlamentari. Majoritatea este 361 de voturi”
Siegfried Mureșan highlighted the power dynamics between EU governments and the European Parliament regarding the upcoming budget negotiations. He noted that the governing parties control only 270 out of 705 MEPs, making a majority difficult. Mureșan warned that if proposed cuts to agriculture and cohesion funds are made, the Parliament may reject the budget. He emphasized the need for increased funding, suggesting a budget of 1.38% of the EU's GNI. The negotiations are complicated by demands from six net contributor countries for significant budget cuts. Mureșan advocates for new revenue sources for the EU, including taxes on large tech companies, to avoid reducing funds for essential areas like agriculture and defense.
