The Romanian government plans to extend the registration period for the SME Eco-Tech 2026 program, allowing small and medium enterprises to secure funding for technology investments. Currently open until September 24, 2026, the deadline may be pushed to the end of the year to accommodate more applicants. As of mid-September, 369 applications were recorded, with a goal of funding at least 800 firms. The program offers grants covering up to 40% of eligible expenses, with a total budget of 288 million lei. Eligibility has been broadened to include micro-enterprises and relaxed financial criteria, enabling more companies to apply.
