Despite the overall decline, electric cars saw a significant increase, with pure electric vehicles rising by 57% and plug-in hybrids by 71%. The total registrations for new cars in the first seven months of 2026 reached 75,836, down 5.5% from the same period in 2025. The market structure is shifting, with electrified vehicles now accounting for 60% of the market. Dacia remains the leading brand, although it experienced a 35.6% decline in July. The report emphasizes the need for a stable regulatory framework to support long-term market growth.
