Recent research highlights that AI-generated stories about talking animals perpetuate and even amplify gender biases, particularly against female characters. In a study involving six major generative AI models, only 2% of the stories featured female animal characters, while male characters appeared in 41% of the narratives. This disparity reflects broader trends in children's literature, where male animal characters are twice as common as female ones. The findings serve as a warning about the biases inherent in AI systems, which mirror the data they are trained on.
