Povestea de film a țăranilor români ajunși în cele mai dure grupări mafiote din Statele Unite
Two Romanian peasants, Ieronim Budac and Anna Sage, became significant figures in the American organized crime scene during the Prohibition era. Budac, who initially emigrated to the U.S. seeking a better life, became involved with notorious gangster Al Capone, producing and distributing illegal alcohol. His adventurous life included thrilling escapes from law enforcement. After returning to Romania, he became a successful distiller and even served as mayor. Anna Sage, another Romanian immigrant, also found herself entangled in organized crime, eventually running a brothel. Their stories highlight the unexpected connections between Romanian immigrants and American gangster culture.
