Eugenia Cotinghiu, an 85-year-old from Brașov, is set to participate again in the Azuga Trail Race, showcasing her remarkable vitality. She will compete in the Sorica Sunset Vertical, a challenging 1.9 km uphill course with a significant elevation gain. Her journey into mountain running began in 2025 when she accompanied her grandson, a competitive athlete, to a race. Instead of just watching, she decided to join in, inspiring many with her story. Eugenia attributes her health to natural food, rest, faith, and social interactions. Despite her age, she actively works in her garden, growing vegetables for her family, and remains a beloved matriarch with a large family.
