Portretul lui Donald Trump a ajuns pe noua monedă de 1 dolar
The U.S. Mint has released a special one-dollar coin featuring Donald Trump's portrait to commemorate the 250th anniversary of America. This marks the first time in a century that a living president appears on U.S. currency. The coin, priced at $61 for a roll of 25 and $154.50 for a bag of 100, quickly sold out online. The Mint described the coin as a celebration of national pride and heritage. Although the coins are gold-colored, they contain no gold, being made of copper, zinc, manganese, and nickel. A proposal to issue a $250 bill with Trump's image is currently stalled in Congress due to federal laws prohibiting living individuals on currency. Historically, living presidents have appeared on coins, with Calvin Coolidge featured on a half-dollar in 1926. The Mint's recent legislation allows for such representations on the obverse side of coins, while the reverse remains restricted.
