Romanian firefighters, including those from Sibiu County, are heading to Serbia to assist in combating wildfires in the Deliblato Sands Nature Reserve. The intervention team consists of 69 personnel and specialized equipment, responding to a request for international assistance from Serbian authorities. The mission aims to support local forces in managing the wildfires affecting over 3,500 hectares. Additionally, a Black Hawk helicopter has arrived in Serbia to aid in firefighting efforts, marking its first international mission. This coordinated response showcases Romania's commitment to providing comprehensive support in emergency situations.
