Poluarea din Ploiești, măsurată după un standard din 1987 / Prefect: „În 40 de ani au apărut mai mulți compuși, a evoluat și activitatea rafinăriilor”
The air quality monitoring system in Ploiești is outdated, relying on standards from 1987, according to the prefect of Prahova County, Daniel Nicodim. He emphasized the need for an update due to significant changes in industrial activities and emissions over the past four decades. Nicodim criticized the permissive legislation that allows for wide-ranging exceedances, making it seem like air quality is acceptable. He has reached out to the Ministry of Environment to include hydrogen sulfide measurements, a common complaint among residents. However, he has yet to receive a response and plans to follow up. Additionally, he noted the lack of integration between data from official monitoring stations and industrial sensors, complicating pollution source identification.
