Polonia renunță la plafonarea prețurilor la carburanți

Poland will not extend temporary measures to control fuel prices after August 31 due to budget constraints. The government had reduced VAT on certain fuels and set daily price caps amid rising global energy prices. The current scheme, costing around 5 billion zlotys, was the second of its kind this year. Political disputes have arisen over funding, particularly involving President Karol Nawrocki's delay in approving a tax on exceptional profits in the energy sector.
