Poland's Deputy Defense Minister Paweł Zalewski stated that the country does not want nuclear weapons stationed on its territory, despite concerns over a potential Russian invasion. He emphasized Poland's desire to participate in NATO's nuclear deterrence without hosting nuclear warheads. This marks a clear stance from Warsaw, which has previously expressed skepticism about nuclear arms on its soil. Poland is in preliminary discussions with the U.S. regarding nuclear deterrence expansion in Europe and has joined a French initiative to enhance nuclear deterrence. Additionally, President Karol Nawrocki hinted at the possibility of Poland developing its own nuclear program.
