Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea, about 40 kilometers from Poland's coast, amid increased Russian military activity near NATO's eastern flank. Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that this incident is part of a broader pattern of pressure from Russia, emphasizing that Polish airspace is under constant surveillance. Similar interceptions have occurred recently, and heightened security measures have been implemented in Poland following military actions in the region. The Polish government remains vigilant against potential hybrid attacks from Russia targeting countries supporting Ukraine.
