Politico: Rusia încearcă să-și refacă influența în UE
Russia is seeking to strengthen economic ties with EU member states, particularly Slovakia, following the electoral defeat of Viktor Orbán in Hungary. Slovakia plans to revive a bilateral cooperation mechanism with Moscow, focusing on energy resources like oil and gas. The intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation is set to meet after a five-year hiatus, with discussions scheduled for late November. This move reflects a growing relationship between Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and Vladimir Putin, as Slovakia remains dependent on Russian energy. The revival of cooperation may also extend to cultural and environmental sectors, despite ongoing tensions due to the Ukraine conflict.
