Poliția Română explică de ce Ionel Arsene nu a fost extrădat din Italia: Decizia aparține instanței

The Romanian Police clarified that the non-extradition of former PSD Neamț leader Ionel Arsene is due to an Italian court decision, not delays by Romanian authorities. The extradition process was suspended for medical reasons, and its resumption relies solely on the Italian judiciary. Arsene was arrested in Italy in March 2023 and was sentenced in Romania to 6 years and 8 months for influence peddling. Although the Italian court initially rejected the extradition request, it later approved it, but the transfer was halted a day before it was scheduled due to medical reasons.
