In June 2026, Bacău City Hall purchased the former SIF Moldova building for about 6.5 million euros, yet the Local Police continues to operate from a rented space costing 5,805 euros monthly. The police require a new facility with specialized areas for operational activities, including secure storage for weapons and spaces for hearings. The extension of the current rental contract was deemed necessary to avoid institutional disruption. Procedures for renting a new space have begun, following a project approved by the Local Council. The acquisition of the Blue House aims to consolidate municipal services and reduce rental costs.
