Mayor Ciprian Ciucu emphasized the need to transform the river, currently resembling a canal, into a welcoming space. This initiative includes redesigning traffic, planting trees, and reclaiming areas for public use. The city is reviving projects from the Integrated Urban Development Plan (PIDU) and has initiated a pilot project in the Regie area. These changes aim to improve urban spaces and promote better access to the river for citizens.
