The Bucharest City Hall announced the expansion of the intelligent traffic light system, now integrated into 267 intersections. The Bucharest Traffic Management System (BTMS) has been implemented in four new intersections this year and two more in 2025. Although the project was initially funded by PNRR, the funding was lost, and a new application for financing has been submitted. The system allows real-time traffic management and prioritizes public transport, aiming to alleviate traffic congestion in the city. The PMB emphasizes the benefits of this expansion, including reduced travel times and improved traffic flow.
