The Romanian government plans to integrate the Romanian Police, Border Police, and Immigration Inspectorate into a single National Police structure. Additionally, a new National Authority for Public Services will be established to manage passports, personal records, permits, and registrations. This reorganization aims to streamline operations and improve public service efficiency. The National Police will focus on public order and crime prevention, while the Gendarmerie will handle public event security and crisis situations. The restructuring also includes a functional audit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to reduce hierarchical levels and consolidate similar functions. The final program will be presented before the parliamentary vote for the new government.
