Plan pentru Cernavodă: Autoritățile pregătesc noi măsuri pentru a crește nivelul Dunării

The Interministerial Committee for Bala-Cernavodă is implementing measures to protect the Danube's water level at Cernavodă, where the nuclear power plant's cooling intake is located. Due to historic low water levels, both operational reactors were shut down. Immediate actions include dredging to improve water flow and constructing a short stone dam to direct water towards the navigable channel. Additional measures involve using inflatable barriers to maintain necessary water levels for cooling. The committee will report on technical solutions and funding by September 2026.
