The Danube River's flow is expected to decrease again starting September 10, prompting authorities to implement measures to ensure the safe operation of the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. A National Emergency Committee has approved a gradual intervention plan based on the river's water level. Initial steps include deploying vessels to direct more water to the Black Sea Canal. If necessary, a modular system of pontoons and hydro-barriers will be installed. Should these measures fail, high-capacity pumps will be used to enhance water supply for cooling.
