Pîslaru: Comisia Europeană spune clar că amendamentele PSD încalcă jaloane din PNRR
The European Commission warned the Romanian government that proposed amendments to decarbonization legislation could jeopardize commitments under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Minister Dragoș Pîslaru stated that the government sought the Commission's opinion before a Senate vote, which confirmed that the amendments violate key milestones related to decarbonization and energy market reform. Despite these warnings, the Senate adopted the amendments, which allow for the gradual phase-out of coal and lignite energy production only after new capacities are built. President Nicușor Dan indicated he would use constitutional powers to ensure Romania does not lose PNRR funds if the law passes with these amendments.
