Pisicile, folosite în acțiuni de spionaj în timpul Războiului Rece. Proiectul „Pisicuța Acustică”, un eșec • Newsweek România
During the Cold War, the CIA attempted to train cats as secret agents in a project called "Acoustic Kitty," which ultimately failed. The initiative involved implanting listening devices in cats to gather intelligence in sensitive areas. However, the project faced significant challenges, including the unpredictable nature of cats, which made them difficult to control. The first mission ended tragically when the cat was reportedly hit by a taxi, although the CIA denied this claim. Ultimately, the CIA concluded that using cats for espionage was impractical. In contrast, the CIA's later project involving dolphins, known as OXYGAS, was more successful and was eventually transferred to the U.S. military, which continues to utilize dolphins for various operations today.
