Pilonul II: Unde sunt investiți cei 246,8 miliarde lei?

As of July 31, 2026, the second pillar of pensions in Romania reached assets of 246.8 billion lei, with over 8.5 million participants. The majority of investments were in government bonds and stocks. The data from the Financial Supervisory Authority highlights the growth of the mandatory private pension system. The funds received contributions of 2.01 billion lei in July, with an average monthly contribution of 437 lei. Approximately 95% of investments were in Romanian assets, making the second pillar a significant source of financing for the state and the financial market.
