For the first time, the net gain of mandatory private pension funds in Romania has exceeded 100 billion lei, reaching 108.6 billion lei by July 2026. The assets managed for 8.5 million participants have risen to 246.7 billion lei, with total payments of 7.9 billion lei made to over 350,000 beneficiaries. This demonstrates the system's efficiency and effectiveness for participants. Approximately 95% of the funds' assets are invested in Romania, making them significant institutional investors in the economy. The majority of contributions come from regular participants, highlighting the importance of these funds for long-term savings.
