Pierderi anuale de 97 de miliarde de euro pentru furnizorii europeni de echipamente feroviare din cauza limitării accesului pe piețele externe
European railway equipment suppliers are missing out on approximately €97 billion in business opportunities annually due to trade barriers limiting their access to foreign markets. Despite increased global investments in railway infrastructure aimed at reducing emissions, European companies are losing ground as access to rapidly growing markets becomes more challenging. A study by Bain & Company for UNIFE indicates that European suppliers can only access 56% of global railway markets, down from 59% in 2024. Countries like China, India, and the USA are boosting domestic production, complicating competition for foreign suppliers. The global railway market is projected to grow from €221 billion in 2023-2025 to €266.8 billion in 2029-2031, despite these challenges. UNIFE's director expressed concern over the declining global access for European railway industries for the third consecutive study.
