PIB România T2 2026: Stagnare economică și scădere de 2% de la an la an
In Q2 2026, Romania's GDP remained unchanged from the previous quarter but decreased by 2.0% compared to Q2 2025, totaling approximately 521.1 billion lei. The industrial and real estate sectors saw significant contractions, while construction and investments grew, helping to stabilize GDP. Consumer spending declined, with household consumption down by 1.2%. Despite rising prices, imports outpaced exports, leading to a commercial deficit of over 28.6 billion lei. The gross fixed capital formation increased by 12.7%, offsetting declines in other sectors. Overall, the GDP for the first half of 2026 was estimated at 1.023 trillion lei, down 1.6% in real terms from the same period in 2025.
