Piața auto din România, în scădere. Înmatriculările de mașini noi au scăzut cu 28% faţă de anul trecut

The Romanian auto market has seen a 28% decline in new car registrations in July compared to last year, highlighting market vulnerabilities. Despite this, electric vehicles have gained popularity, with a 57% increase in fully electric cars and a 71% rise in plug-in hybrids. The market needs public policies to support the transition to low-emission technologies. In July 2026, 11,633 cars were registered, with SUVs dominating the market. Gasoline and diesel vehicles have experienced significant declines, while electrified vehicles now hold a 60% market share. The top-selling electric models include Tesla and BYD, while Dacia leads in mild-hybrid sales. Light commercial vehicles also saw a 33% drop, contrasting with a 6% increase in heavy commercial vehicles.
