The Romanian auto market experienced significant fluctuations in 2026, with a 28% drop in July following a 53% increase in June. Electric vehicles saw a notable rise of 58% in July. Overall, new car registrations fell by 5.5% in the first seven months of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. Dacia led the market in July with 3,286 units sold, followed by Toyota and Skoda. The Chinese brand BYD made it into the top five, highlighting its growing presence in Romania.
