Philips România, amendă de aproape 1 milion de euro

The Romanian Competition Council imposed a fine of 5.18 million lei on Philips Romania for providing incomplete documents during an unannounced inspection. An employee deleted the WhatsApp application from a work device, limiting access to potentially relevant information. Inspections were conducted at Philips and ten other companies in the medical equipment sector, authorized by the Bucharest Court of Appeal. The inspections aimed to gather necessary information regarding potential anti-competitive practices. Companies obstructing such investigations can face fines ranging from 0.5% to 1% of their previous year's revenue.
