Petrolier capturat de piraţi în largul Yemenului şi deturnat spre Somalia

Six armed individuals have seized control of a tanker off the coast of Yemen, heading towards Somalia, indicating a resurgence of Somali piracy. The vessel, SEAMULL, was hijacked 136 nautical miles from Al-Mukalla. The UKMTO and MSCIO have confirmed the incident, urging nearby ships to remain vigilant. Piracy had decreased significantly since 2011 due to international missions and security measures, but incidents have risen again this year, with at least five vessels currently held by pirates. Somalia has been in turmoil since 1991, with ongoing conflicts threatening maritime safety.
