Petrișor Peiu, leader of AUR senators, stated that Luca Niculescu's chances of forming a government depend largely on PSD's decisions. He emphasized that PSD's unclear position will influence negotiations for support. Peiu ruled out backing a government without AUR's participation or one that continues the previous government's agenda. He criticized Niculescu's appointment as being directly from President Nicușor Dan, making him a representative of the president's will. Peiu suggested that if the government formation fails, early elections should be considered, as this is a common practice in Europe. He also noted a troubling coincidence regarding PNL's stance on early elections after a recent event involving their prime minister.
