Petrişor Peiu, leader of AUR senators, denied claims linking U.S. ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle to the ousting of Romanian Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. He stated that the decision to submit a motion of censure was made solely by five individuals from AUR and PSD, with no involvement from Guilfoyle. Peiu clarified that he and Marian Neacşu drafted the motion without any input from the ambassador. The controversy surrounding Guilfoyle arose from a Wall Street Journal article suggesting she boasted about influencing governments, including Romania's. Peiu emphasized that over 280 parliament members voted for the government's dismissal, excluding Guilfoyle from any role in the process.
