Senatorul AUR, Petrișor Peiu, criticized the government for appointing Teodor Niculescu, brother of the designated Prime Minister, as technical director of CFR Călători despite his lack of railway engineering qualifications. Peiu highlighted that Niculescu's background is in restaurant and grocery store management, raising concerns about his ability to oversee the maintenance of thousands of train cars and locomotives. He pointed out that this is unprecedented in the history of the railway sector, as the technical direction lacks a qualified railway engineer.
