Hungary's Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced that three out of four reactors at the Paks Nuclear Power Plant are operating at full capacity. This follows a significant reduction in energy production due to drought conditions affecting the Danube River. Precautionary measures helped avoid a complete shutdown, and dredging operations were conducted to ensure cooling systems received adequate water. The plant is now generating over 1,000 MW, with expectations to reach nearly 2,000 MW soon. Reactor 3 has been successfully restarted, and efforts are ongoing to bring Reactor 4 back online.
