In the first half of 2026, 9,687 companies suspended their activities, a decrease of 2.56% compared to the previous year. The highest number of suspensions occurred in Bucharest, followed by Cluj and Bihor. Conversely, Giurgiu reported the fewest suspensions. Notable increases were seen in Caraș-Severin and Maramureș, while significant decreases were noted in Giurgiu and Vrancea. The wholesale and retail trade sector had the most suspensions, with a notable rise in other service activities.
