Peste 70% din teritoriul Franței este supus restricțiilor de utilizare a apei
France is facing a severe drought, prompting water usage restrictions across nearly 70% of the country. The situation worsened due to repeated heatwaves and a significant lack of rainfall. All 99 departments in mainland France and Corsica are under alert, with 67 at maximum crisis level. Authorities have limited water use to essential needs only, banning activities like lawn watering and car washing. Approximately 43% of rivers and small streams have dried up, and groundwater levels are declining in 77% of the territory. A meeting to assess the situation and plan future drought management is scheduled for August 12.
