Peste 40.000 de oameni au vizitat Insula Lacul Morii în primul weekend de la redeschidere

The reopening of Insula Lacul Morii attracted over 40,000 visitors during the West Side Sunset Fest, according to Sector 6 City Hall. The festival featured concerts, children's activities, water sports, and relaxation areas. The island's modernization, covering 3.4 hectares, cost 33 million lei and was largely funded by EU grants. The project includes new pathways, seating areas, playgrounds, and biodiversity enhancements such as planting 312 new trees and creating floating vegetation islands. The reopening marks the first phase of a larger project to transform the area into a linear urban park of approximately 16.6 hectares.
