Border police in Giurgiu seized over four million untaxed cigarettes from a Ukrainian-registered truck, valued at approximately 6.12 million lei. The discovery occurred during a 'BLITZ' operation on DN5, where officers found the cigarettes hidden in the vehicle. The truck was driven by a 29-year-old Ukrainian who could not provide legal documentation for the goods. Authorities have initiated a criminal case for illegal possession and sale of untaxed products, and investigations are ongoing to determine all circumstances and involved parties.
