Abandoned fishing gear and illegal fishing practices have trapped dolphins, leading to their deaths. The conflict in the Black Sea region has also impacted dolphin populations, especially in the Danube Delta. While some dolphins have been rescued by tourists, their chances of survival remain low due to disorientation and separation from mature individuals.
