Peste 220.000 de ucraineni au primit protecție în România. Câți au solicitat azil • Newsweek România
Over 223,000 individuals have been granted temporary protection in Romania since the start of the war, with nearly all being Ukrainian citizens. Only 466 Ukrainians applied for asylum in the first eight months of 2026. The temporary protection allows refugees to live legally in Romania and access essential services without going through the usual asylum process. In total, 935 asylum requests were received, with Ukrainians accounting for almost half of these. The figures reflect those registered for temporary protection, not the current number of Ukrainians in Romania.
