The Romanian Ministry of National Defense announced that over 20 vessels are participating in the Danube Protector 26 exercise, focusing on river security and crisis situations. Approximately 350 military personnel are involved in this annual training, which runs from October 5 to 9. The exercise includes scenarios for repelling enemies and securing waterways, alongside safety measures in simulated conflict conditions. The Danube's strategic importance for Romania is highlighted, as it connects ten countries and facilitates navigation from the Black Sea to the North Sea.
