The German Federal Motor Transport Authority has announced a recall of approximately 2.16 million Volkswagen vehicles and nearly 700,000 Audi cars due to a corrosion risk in the steering system. A mounting screw on the steering box may rust and loosen over time, potentially leading to a total loss of steering. Affected Volkswagen models include the Golf, Tiguan, and Caddy, produced between 2013 and 2024, while Audi's Q3 models from 2017 to 2024 are also included. Volkswagen confirmed the issue was detected during quality checks, and although no injuries have been reported, the recall is a precautionary measure.
