Peste 171 de milioane de elevi din întreaga lume au avut educaţia perturbată de fenomene climatice extreme în 2025, potrivit UNICEF

A UNICEF report reveals that over 171 million students worldwide faced educational disruptions due to extreme climate events in 2025. Storms were the primary cause, impacting 109 million students, while floods and heatwaves also contributed significantly. In Romania, 554,705 students were affected, with storms being the main risk. The report highlights that most affected students live in low and middle-income countries, which often lack resources for educational continuity during climate emergencies. UNICEF calls for increased funding and infrastructure investment to enhance educational resilience against climate shocks. The long-term effects of these disruptions could lead to significant economic losses and increased vulnerability for girls.
