Sibiu attracts German investors, yet local schools struggle to provide adequate conditions, with many students learning in shifts. In the 2026-2027 school year, 21 schools operate in two shifts, affecting over 17,000 students. Despite a slight decrease in schools using multiple shifts, the issue persists, limiting students' access to facilities and impacting their education. Compared to German schools, where students learn in a single shift, Sibiu's students face challenges due to overcrowded classrooms. Efforts are ongoing to reduce the number of schools in shifts, but achieving a single-shift system remains a significant challenge. Authorities are also addressing safety concerns related to minors near schools.
