Since the beginning of this year, the Romanian Police has issued over 14,000 fines for drivers lacking mandatory civil liability insurance (RCA). This figure represents a national trend, with 14,762 sanctions applied compared to 18,776 last year. The police are responsible for ensuring drivers have this insurance, as mandated by law. However, authorities lack precise data on fines for illegally parked vehicles without RCA, and this is not monitored by the national e-Sigur camera system. This system is designed to process traffic data and identify various traffic violations.
