Over 130 chess players participated in the "Mihail Breaz Festival" in Alba Iulia, showcasing talent across various categories. The event honored the late local chess master and featured both licensed and unlicensed players. Winners included Pop Alexandru and Pleșa Maria in the licensed section, while Mirea Rareș Andrei and Crișan Mădălina topped the unlicensed category. The competition continued with the "WFCC Alba Carolina Solving Cup," attracting 33 participants and featuring winners like Crișan Vlaicu. Alba Iulia will host the European Championship next year after the World Championship in 2025.
